East Dock has been part of Oak Cliff's story since 1915. Originally built as an icehouse before becoming part of the company that would eventually grow into 7-Eleven—yes, 7-Eleven got its start in Oak Cliff! Originally consisting of just three buildings, the site expanded during World War II when additional structures were added to manufacture airplane parts, bringing the campus to more than 63,000 square feet, later the property served as a bookbinding factory.

After sitting vacant for more than seven years, the historic campus was thoughtfully restored by Proxy Properties, preserving its industrial character while creating space for a new generation of local businesses. Today, East Dock is home to more than 10 independently owned shops, studios, and restaurants.

Located just minutes from the Dallas Zoo, Halperin Park, the Tenth Street Historic District, and Oak Cliff Assembly, East Dock is positioned within the heart of Oak Cliff and just a short distance from some of Dallas' most notable neighborhoods and destinations.

Bishop Arts is approximately 2 miles (about a 5-minute drive) away, Jefferson Boulevard is just 1 mile (about a 3-minute drive) away, the Cedars is approximately 3.5 miles (about an 8-minute drive) away, and Deep Ellum is approximately 6 miles (about a 12-minute drive) away.

Getting here is easy, too. East Dock is approximately 0.5 miles (about a 10-minute walk) from the Dallas Zoo DART Station, which is served by the Red Line, providing access to Downtown Dallas and surrounding neighborhoods.

We have three parking lots surrounding East Dock, so feel free to park in whichever is most convenient! Street parking is also available along Viola Street.
